One of the things I love most about writing is enjoying reading the works of authors who inspired me in my childhood.
It was wonderful to see such a diverse group of people at the Latino Literary Gala, but what I loved most was actress Samantha Ledezma’s portrayal of Frida Kahlo; it captivated me.
I enjoy experiencing art at its finest, and I was able to relive that on the evening of Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Latino Literary Gala, held at the Austin City Library’s Special Events Center, hosted by Women Who Dare and Overcome Limits Publishers.
What can I say about the beautiful artistic atmosphere? Those incredible posters of the greatest Latino authors transported me back to the wonderful literature of my childhood and reminded me of my Latino roots.
It was a wonderful evening, and of course, the empanadas at the end… I was starving, to be honest! I’m very picky about food because of some allergies, but it didn’t make me sick!
I stayed safe from the food and loved seeing my book in a different stage.
